From New York Times bestselling author of the "twisty-mystery" (Vulture) novel In a Dark, Dark Wood, comes The Woman in Cabin 10, an equally suspenseful and haunting novel from Ruth Ware--this time, set at sea.

In this tightly wound, enthralling story reminiscent of Agatha Christie's works, Lo Blacklock, a journalist who writes for a travel magazine, has just been given the assignment of a lifetime: a week on a luxury cruise with only a handful of cabins. The sky is clear, the waters calm, and the veneered, select guests jovial as the exclusive cruise ship, the Aurora, begins her voyage in the picturesque North Sea. At first, Lo's stay is nothing but pleasant: the cabins are plush, the dinner parties are sparkling, and the guests are elegant. But as the week wears on, frigid winds whip the deck, gray skies fall, and Lo witnesses what she can only describe as a dark and terrifying nightmare: a woman being thrown overboard. The problem? All passengers remain accounted for--and so, the ship sails on as if nothing has happened, despite Lo's desperate attempts to convey that something (or someone) has gone terribly, terribly wrong...

With surprising twists, spine-tingling turns, and a setting that proves as uncomfortably claustrophobic as it is eerily beautiful, Ruth Ware offers up another taut and intense read in The Woman in Cabin 10--one that will leave even the most sure-footed reader restlessly uneasy long after the last page is turned.

Dorina Pascu a dat nota:

The Woman In Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware is a soft version of Agatha Christie's novels, nothing too fancy, but still intriguing for the readers fond of the genre. The novel tells the story of Laura Blacklock, a journalist who is invited to be part of the maiden voyage of a luxury ship. The journey that was supposed to be a royal treat is changed into a nightmarish experience for Laura since she is witness to a crime. The only problem is that the woman that has apparently been murdered has never been on the cruise in the first place according to the testimonies of all the people The denuement is not spectacular, but the novel gains extra points in creating a tense, claustrophobic, icy atmosphere and in using a descriptive kind of language that is rather harsh on the characters. I loved the way the main character described the rest of passengers on the cruise. I recommend this to the fans of the genre and the readers who want to improve their reading skills in English.

This is the top ten best-seller.

It is from the best-selling author of Richard and Judy pick. In A Dark, Dark Wood comes Ruth Ware next compulsive page-turner. A rollicking page-turner that reads like Agatha Christie got together with Paula Hawkins to crowd source a really fun thriller. This was meant to be the perfect trip. The Northern Lights. A luxury press launch on a boutique cruise ship. A chance for travel journalist Lo Blacklock to recover from a traumatic break-in that has left her on the verge of collapse. Except things don't go as planned. Woken in the night by screams, Lo rushes to her window to see a body thrown overboard from the next door cabin. But the records show that no-one ever checked into that cabin, and no passengers are missing from the boat. Exhausted and emotional, Lo has to face the fact that she may have made a mistake - either that, or she is now trapped on a boat with a murderer...
