With the addition of a paediatric rheumatologist to the editor team, this new edition is a fully functional rheumatology handbook for patients from childhood to adulthood. Practically structured, the handbook focuses first on presenting symptoms and then considers key diseases, emergencies, and rare diseases in detail. There is a comprehensive and updated account of assessment, guidelines, and treatment options. The text has been condensed with bullet points and summary boxes so the reader can focus on the essential information. offers a welcome addition to the practitioner's library because of its handy, pocket-sized format... a practical, clinically-oriented guide that can be rapidly and easily consulted.
This is an excellent handbook of rheumatology and although it is handbook sized, it packs a big punch. It is full of practical wisdom and advice and well suited to someone who deals with a significant number of rheumatology patients.
Review from previous edition This is a comprehensive pocket size text that no self-respecting healthcare professional working in this field should be without.
The book provides an outstanding review of all major topics relevant to rheumatology. It is definitely a book worth keeping close by for anyone training in rheumatology.
[The book] is a comprehensive and extremely practical guide and a valuable companion to any health professional working in rheumatology...[I] would highly recommend this pocket guide to both trainees and qualified practitioners with an interest in the speciality.
