Recenzii
I
absolutely
recommend
this
book!
There’s
a
lot
of
colourful
diagrams
and
tables,which
I
find
amazing
because
it
helps
me
visualise
things
and
that’s
a
great
way
to
revise,
if
you
can
visualise
and
see
something,
rather
than
just
reading
it,
it’s
going
to
help
you
massively.

‘The inclusion of the fictional family makes the rather dry subject of anatomy and physiology come alive. As this is not hospital but patient based, it also gives the book a health focus which is often missing. The interactive nature of the book and the four stages of learning are also features that I particularly like - it recognises the different ways in which students now learn.’
The book is extremely well illustrated in colour throughout and contains a wealth of diagrams, tables and learning activities. The authors have included a fictional family in this resource and have effectively integrated each individual throughout the text, which very much brings the learning to life and provides that vital link between anatomy and physiology and nursing practice.
I would highly recommend this high-quality resource to all students pursuing a career in nursing, as it will significantly contribute to their overall learning experience.
‘Nursing students will benefit enormously from the clear explanations, informative videos, colourful diagrams and simple and easy to remember definitions of key concepts.’
‘A well-presented and clear book that should enable student nurses at all levels to establish a sound understanding of A&P related to clinical practice.’
‘The use of patient case studies and links to practice is something that has been less clearly focused upon in other A&P textbooks and will be extremely helpful in making the concepts within A&P 'real' for student nurses.’
‘A clear strength of this book is how it situates anatomy and physiology within a philosophical framework of nursing care (namely the Person-Centred Practice Framework of McCormack and McCance, 2016). Anatomy and physiology are often taught separately from the psycho-social aspects of care. This can make it difficult for students to apply and integrate their knowledge of human anatomy to patient care. The philosophical framework developed by the authors of this book will go a long way towards developing truly holistic nursing care. Students will develop a clear understanding of how human anatomy and physiology underpin safe and effective nursing care and clinical decision-making.’
